>>mark: that was police chief howard jordan speaking at the shooting -- speaking about the shooting at oikos university. here was the scene after dozens of police arrived. the suspect line the students up against a classroom wall before opening fire, he left to reload his weapon and returns. will tran has been following the latest and is live at the school this morning. >>will: this is still an active crime scene. police in the yellow tape all around as they tried to put together a time line on the chain of eds. if we have learned a possible motive. the suspect was kicked out of the schools several months ago. he complained that while he was here he was teased and taunted by many people. he also says the victims that were shot, many of whom died at the scene were not the ones who did the teasing and haunting. also, the chief says he was angry at the school face and he was kicked out possibly because of a nerve
management. a short time ago we carried a news conference live with the chief and here is what he had to say. >> we do know that he was upset at administrators, we do know that he was upset with several suitors because of the way he was treated when he was enrolled here two months ago. and we do not have any further details about his exact location, that is the information we received from witnesses and the suspect felt. >> they spent the night talking to the suspect. the chief says he does not appear to be remorseful. he is, remorseful and stalking him about what happened didn't. what said he is not coming out and saying that he confesses to the murders instead he is just making statements. as far as the victims there are school students here, one of the victims was a
secretary. they all range from 21-40 years old from various countries including the philippines, korea, nigeria, nepal, they have not recovered the handgun. with a plan to do today is offscouring from year to the alameda safely looking for the handgun used. south >>darya: let's talk more about the suspected shooter. his name, he is 43 years old hurry and he went for a brief time to that college in oakland but was kicked out. he is a career in a national and has very little family left. his brother recently died in a car accident in virginia. he also had financial troubles. records show school had all liens and he owed money for un see force to fall so

that route and they will recover the handgun. that is a key component to their case. nonetheless, there are still working on him and perhaps he will ultimately come out with a confession. we do know that he gave up shooting because he did not want a confrontation with police officers. it appears he still had ammunition but he heard victims calling 911 still high that the police hall here on a moment. that is what it is believed he fled the scene. >>darya: led stake in look at what we know about the alleged shooter. he is 43 years old.

a possible motivation was because he went after a particular administrator. >>mark: did the police fire any shots through any of this? >>will: they did not they thought that he was still here, but he had fled the scene. he could hear people calling 911. he knew that the police were on their way at any moment, so he took off. when the police officers arrived, they had to assume that he was still inside but it turns out, he was long gone sunday and arrested him. death and one woman said he was not bloody were carrying a handgun.

oikos university. it is near the colosseum. it happened around 10:30 a.m.. you can see the police that responded to these reports of shots being fired. police say that what happened was a disgruntled former student who went in and opened fire, mining students up against the classroom wall and shooting them at random. they said he was upset about double students have been teased him about his english skills. will tran is joining us with the latest in what we're learning this morning. >>will: according to the chief of the oakland police department, howard jordan, he believes that not only was the disgruntled, he was kicked out several months ago because of an air issues. you can see behind me that investigators are still here nearly 24 hours after the massacre. there are collecting evidence and trying to find a handgun that they used. they do not know where it is at this time. they did speak with them overnight and according to
the police chief he does not seem remorseful. he went there looking for one particular administrator if, when he could not find that administrator, he did a secretary hostage. he started going to the school and told of the victims could get against the wall. those who did not comply were shot and killed, those who did comply were also shot and killed. cost >> and the victims were six women and one male victim. the victims are from various countries including curia, nigeria, nepal and the philippines. we do not have any further information regarding their exact residents. their age range is 21-40

eventually turned himself into a security guard as well as police officers. there will retrace his steps hoping to find the critical piece of evidence, the handgun used in the massacre. >>darya: what is going on at the school behind you right now? are there police still inside the school for any reason? >>will: there are no student whatsoever. they're going to hear because yesterday was so chaotic, they could not fairly look at the scene. they are going through room to room trying to build a case against the suspect. this place has been shut down indefinitely. so far, no one from the university has come in to issue a statement. as far as the suspect we are learning that he has not officially confess.
